Torokhtiy Seminars in 2024: A Review
Every year, we travel all over the world to bring our weightlifting seminar to athletes, coaches, and weightlifting enthusiasts who want to improve their snatch and clean & jerk technique and Olympic weightlifting Coaching skills.
It’s quite an intensive, two-a-day workshop that’s dedicated to helping everyone, regardless of their training background, learn the basics of weightlifting and improve their performance, whether that’s for meets, semi-professional competitions, or individual needs.
Typically, the entire seminar is led in English, but if there’s a language barrier in a specific country, a translator is requested so that communication can flow freely and all participants get value from the learning experience. The standard schedule for the two days of the seminar usually looks like this:
Day 1 is as follows:
- 08:45 – 09:00 Registration
- 09:00 – 09:20 Program announcement, self-presentation
- 09:20 – 10:00 Snatch theory and unique “Bullet Time” video analysis
- 10:00 – 13:00 Practical training in snatch progression with specific tips and drills
- 13:00 – 14:30 Lunch
- 14:30 – 15:00 Snatch special warm-up complex
- 15:00 – 17:00 Group workout session (up to PR)
- 17:00 -18:00 Q&A and Snatch day summary.
Day 2 is as follows:
- 09:00 – 09:10 Program announcement, self-presentation
- 09:10 – 10:00 Clean & Jerk theory and unique “Bullet Time” video analysis
- 10:00 – 13:00 Practical training in C&J progression with specific tips and drills
- 13:00 – 14:30 Lunch break
- 14:30 – 15:00 Clean & Jerk special warm-up complex
- 15:00 – 17:00 Group workout session (up to PR)
- 17:00 – 18:00 Q&A and Clean & Jerk summary
- 18:00 – 18:30 Certification & Photo opportunities
This is a standard Seminar program, but it can be upgraded or modified, depending on customer’s request and can include more theoretical lectures related to training program design or competition strategies.
Seminars can be provided by Oleksiy Torokhtiy alone or accompanied by Sergii Putsov (PhD holder with 20 years of Olympic Weightlifting experience), depending on training group size and requests.
Even though the seminar is intense, it’s suitable for everyone, from weightlifting enthusiasts who want to improve their technique to athletes and coaches who want to get deeper insight and learn more about each skill. The only requirements for all participants is to wear comfortable training clothes and weightlifting shoes, and to bring supplies for taking notes, as there’s quite a bit of theory covered during the two days.
