Rahmat Abdullah Is Posed for A Big Performance at the IWF Grand Prix In Doha

The IWF Grand Prix in Doha is already underway, with many of the favorites already showing results as we cover them on our blog and social media platforms. But one big name that we’re expecting to show fantastic results in just 5 days at the very same competition is Rahmat Abdullah.

The Indonesian weightlifter is a two-time gold medalist in the 73 kg event at the World Championships in 2021 and 2022. Along with that, during the Olympic Games in Tokyo, he managed to snag a bronze medal and has been steadily building up to show even better performances at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Earlier this year, in October, Rahmat set a new clean & jerk world record – 201 kg during the Asian Games in Hangzhou, and that, in combination with his 158 kg snatch, was enough to get him a 359 kg total and the gold medal.

Currently, Rahmat is in fantastic form, and as seen on his social media, he’s able to easily deficit clean pull 200 kgs and back squat even more – 210 kgs for 5 reps. Since 2021, Abdullah has failed to miss a single podium at any IWF competition he’s participated in, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down, so we expect to see the same high level of performance from him in the Qatar Cup this week.
