Solfrid Koanda is Gearing Up for the European Championship 2024

With less than a month away from the European Championship, many of the best athletes are gearing up to enter the competition in their best shape. This year’s Euros will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from February 12th to 20th. They are one of the last opportunities for Olympic qualifications, which makes them one of the most important events of the year.

One of the biggest stars at the competition is set to be the Norwegian Solfrid Koanda, who is the defending European champion and a one-time World Champion in the 87 kg division.

From videos shared on her social media profile, we can see that Koanda is preparing to enter the Euros in great form, showcased by the ease with which she is practicing 145 kg on the Clean & Jerk and her ability to front squat 150 kg for reps with a comment that she feels ready to add more weight.

The Norwegian has been one of the most solid performers in the women’s 87 kg division in the last few years, winning two European titles, one World title, and a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championship in Bogota, Columbia. Along with that, she’s Norway’s first female world champion and a holder of multiple European and Nordic records in the clean & jerk.
