Lee Sang-Yeon is Gearing Up with Impressive Training Before the Start of the Asian Championship
In less than three weeks, we’ll all have the pleasure of witnessing the Asian Championships 2024, which will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 3rd to the 10th of February. The event is one of the last qualifications before the Olympic Games in Paris, and so many of the top athletes are preparing to deliver great performances as they start to enter peak form for the summer.
One of the athletes we’ve seen showing impressive training progress is Lee Sang Yeon from South Korea, who recently uploaded several videos to his Instagram profile that showcase just how much he has improved and that he is in good shape for the upcoming Asian Championship.
In one of the videos, we can see the Korean easily deadlifting 210 kg for 10 reps and squatting with the same amount just as easily. Along with that, Sang-Yeon can be seen pushing the impressive 160 kg in a push press comfortably and in good form.
When it comes to accolades, Lee Sang-Yeon is the Korean record-holder for the Clean & Jerk in the 67 kg division, managing to lift 182 kg.
He is one of South Korea’s biggest hopes for a medal in Paris, as last year he managed to get the bronze medal at the Clean & Jerk during the World Championship in Riyadh, where he placed just below the podium, finishing in 5th place.
Along with that, Sang-Yeon has a silver medal from last year’s Asian Championships that he hopes to improve upon during this year.
