2024 IWF European Championships: Pavlo Zalipskyi won Silver in the Snatch in the 61 kg Men’s Category

Day 2 of the European Championships was underway yesterday, and we saw what we were promised – a great show in the men’s lightweight categories. In a terrific battle for the podium spots, Ukrainian lifter Pavlo Zalipskyi showed a fantastic performance and managed to snag one silver medal.

Zalopskyi started the competition very successfully by lifting 126 kg on his Snatch, which was enough to give him the second spot on the podium for the movement.

Unfortunately, however, his Clean & Jerk of 145 kg wasn’t good enough to give him a top spot in the ranking, and he finished just outside the medal spots in 4th place in the overall ranking.

Still, for Pavlo Zalipskyi, this performance was better than the one he showed at last year’s Europeans. Back then, he managed to lift seven kilograms less on the snatch and finished 9th overall.
