Mohamad Aniq Bin K. Won the Bronze Medal at the IWF Grand Prix II
During day 3 of the IWF Grand Prix II in Doha, we witnessed quite fierce competition during the men’s 61 kg division, as unexpected lifters delivered results much better than what was expected.
One of the surprises of the day was Malaysian lifter Mohamad Aniq Bin Kasadan, who managed to win the bronze medal, even though he had to move up rank from Group C to Group A. His total of 296 kg was a 5 kg improvement from his last outing at the World Championship in Riyadh, as he managed to record a 126 kg snatch and a 170 kg clean-and-jerk during yesterday’s event.
Even though his snatch result barely put him in the top 10 in the men’s 61 kg division, his clean-and-jerk result was second only to that of the gold medalist Pak Myong Jin, who managed to lift one kilogram more to win the event.
