Iron Biby Retained the Championship Title in log lifting and Prevailed with 230 kg
Cheick Al-Hassan Sanou, a famous weightlifter with a difficult fate, can again boast of another victory and title defense for lifting the log. This athlete is also nicknamed as Iron Biby and he actually hails from Burkina Faso.
At the recent competition in Scotland, which took place on October 21 in the city of Glasgow, he proved his right to carry this kind of title.
Moreover, he improved on the record he set in 2021. Then he was able to lift a log weighing 229 kg, and in 2023 he lifted a weight 1 kg higher, which allowed him to celebrate the victory and feel the owner of the third World log lift title.
The story of this athlete is quite cinematic. He was characterized from childhood by a large weight even at birth. This caused laughter among his peers, but it was during his university years that he realized his strength and started powerlifting.
He is also one of the Guinness Book of World Records for being able to lift 82 times one person in one minute. He also boasts his name in the sports record books for maximum weight Axle Press and Log Lift.
His story impresses many new athletes and helps popularize the sport of weightlifting. Despite ridicule from his peers at school and university, he was still able to become one of the popular people in the sport. He turned his seemingly weakness into a great strength that brought him popularity and meaning in life.
