The gold winner became Ri Suk who did a Snatch of 114 kg that brought her gold medal, Clean&Jerk of 146 kg, and 260 kg total. She surpassed her teammate by 6 kilos, while leaving the opponents behind 42 kg by kilos. What’s more, she set the Junior World Record in Snatch.
Silver moved to Rim Un Sim who performed her total of 254 kg, 113 kg in Snatch, and 141 kg in Clean&Jerk. Earlier, at the World Championships in Ashgabat, she lifted 251 kg in total, while she did 114 kg in the Snatch session and 137 kg in Clean & Jerk.
Bronze was secured by the Nigerian lifter Ayodele Ruth Imoleayo who lifted 98 kg in the Snatch round, 120 kg in Clean & Jerk, and in total she lifted 218 kg. The weight gap between her and the silver medalist’s total was immense – 36 kilos.
Let’s also remind you of the brightest accomplishments of today’s Top lifters. To start with our gold winner: being just 20 years old, To Suk managed to set the Junior World Record in Snatch in the category of 114 kg. And today she succeeded to set the Junior World Record in Clean & Jerk of 146 kg.
The silver medalist Rim Un Sim is famous for the following sports achievements: she is a two-time silver medalist at the World Championships, and three-time champion at the Asian Championships and Asian Games.
Ayodele Ruth Imoleayo, the today’s bronze holder, presented such remarkable results at the previous competitions: she took silver at the World Championships in Riyadh with a total of 222 kg. But, today she lacked 4 kilos to perform at the same level. Just to mention: there was a great gap between her and the silver medalist – 15 kg in Snatch, 21 kg in Clean & Jerk, and over 30 kilos in total.
