Kaged is a popular supplement brand with many effective products like pre-workouts and protein powders. Unfortunately, we don’t believe their nootropic supplement is one of their better offerings.

After taking a close look at the formula, we found this supplement to be lacking in science-backed ingredients. It would have greatly benefited from the inclusion of more proven nootropic ingredients like caffeine or L-Theanine. As a result, don’t expect this Kaged nootropic to have any major effect on your ability to focus or perform mentally.

Who and What is Kaged Mindset For

Kaged Mindset is a “nootropic,” meaning it’s a supplement meant to boost mental function. As a result, these supplements are mainly meant for people looking for a boost to their memory or focus.

Overall, because many of the ingredients commonly included in nootropics aren’t very well-studied, it’s difficult to recommend their use. With this being said, if you’re interested in trying nootropics, they shouldn’t be dangerous – especially if you’re using them under a doctor’s supervision.

Kaged Mindset Review

Below we’ll be taking a closer look at Mindset’s formula so you can get a better idea of what to expect if you decide to give it a try.

1. Ingredient Breakdown:

Below we’ll be covering 4 ingredients included in Mindset: Alpha-GPC, American Ginseng, L-Tyrosine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, and Huperzine.

kaged nootropic ingredients

• Alpha-GPC

First, Kaged Mindset includes Alpha-GPC which is commonly touted as a cognitive booster. This supplement includes 600mg per serving, which is a dose that’s been shown to provide no physical or mental benefit. Note that this study combined Alpha-GPC in this supplement, which is also included in Mindset.

• American Ginseng

American Ginseng is another common nootropic ingredient that has many purported benefits including improving memory, and overall mental performance. However, there is no scientific basis for any of the claims related to American Ginseng on humans.

• L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid commonly included in pre-workout supplements and nootropics like this. It’s thought to help with mood, depression, and anxiety. Similar to the 2 ingredients listed above, it doesn’t appear like there is much scientific basis to the use of Tyrosine for these purposes.

• Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Acetyl L-Carnitine is another amino acid supplement commonly used as an adjunct therapy for medical conditions such as depression and Alzheimers. With that being said, little evidence to support its use as a supplement in otherwise healthy people.

• Huperzine

Finally, Huperzine is another nootropic ingredient commonly included in supplements like this. In the study on Alpha-GPC mentioned above, Huperzine was also studied. It was also shown to have no major effect on physical or mental performance.

2. Stimulation:

This supplement contains no stimulation whatsoever. This is unfortunate for its overall effectiveness as caffeine is one of the most genuinely beneficial nootropic ingredients out there, providing numerous benefits related to focus, and energy.

3. Taste/Flavor:

From our experience, Kaged Mindset mixes exceptionally well and has a pleasant smell. However, it does have an overly sweet chemical flavor and a bit of a chalky texture. It also only comes in one flavor, Orange Mango.

4. Nutrition Label Transparency:

Overall, we believe the marketing surrounding this product is a little misleading considering most of the ingredients have no real scientific evidence supporting their use. Some of the most effective ingredients are the B Vitamins included in solid doses, which may be beneficial for improving your energy levels if you’re deficient.

Also, this supplement contains the artificial ingredient sucralose which some people will prefer to avoid.

5. Value for Money

This supplement costs about ~$1.50 per serving. Considering we don’t believe any of the ingredients are likely to have a major effect, this is quite a bit overpriced in our opinion. Your money would likely be better spent on a different nootropic, or a high-quality pre-workout supplement instead.

How Do you Use Kaged Mindset?

Overall, none of the ingredients are fully backed by science. As a result, it’s difficult to recommend any specific doses of Kaged Mindset to anybody. However, there shouldn’t be anything wrong with giving this supplement a try if you’re interested in its effects.

With this being said, while there shouldn’t be any risk associated with using this supplement, you may still want to consult with your doctor before use. This is a good idea with any new supplement, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions that could be impacted.

Kaged Mindset Alternatives

Below we’ll be taking a look at some other popular nootropic supplements on the market from Transparent Labs and Huge Supplements. As you’ll see, these have much more effective formulas and are likely to provide more significant nootropic benefits than Kaged Mindset. Let’s take a closer look!

1. Kaged Mindset vs Transparent Labs Mindseries Nootropic

Transparent Labs Mindseries Nootropic

transparent labs nootropic

First, let’s look at Transparent Labs Nootropic supplement. Overall, this supplement is likely to have a much more significant effect because of the 2 main active ingredients Caffeine and L-Theanine. Caffeine will provide energy and focus, while L-Theanine is effective at reducing cortisol and mitigating the negative side effects of caffeine. Keep in mind this is a fairly mild dose of caffeine at 100mg per serving.

This is also an unflavored capsule-based supplement, which may be more ideal when compared to Kaged’s powder. However, at ~$1.67, keep in mind that this is a slightly more expensive option as well.

2. Kaged Mindset vs HUGE Supplements Nootropic

HUGE Supplements Nootropic

HUGE Supplements Nootropic
  • Serving Size: 8 capsules
  • Servings per Container: 30
  • Price per Serving: $1.50,
  • Recommended By AthletesMax TaylorZack Jennings

Next, let’s look at Huge Supplements Nootropic. This is also likely to be more effective than Kaged Mindset because of the inclusion of Caffeine and L-Theanine. Caffeine is dosed stronger here with 200mg of caffeine and 150mg of Di-Caffeine Malate. However, at 8 capsules per serving, you could also easily take a smaller serving.

At ~$1.50, Huge’s Nootropic is the same price as Kaged Mindset, and in our opinion, provides significantly more value for money.

FAQ

Is Nootropic Pre-Workout Good?

There’s nothing wrong with trying nootropic ingredients if you’re interested in their potential effects. Just be aware most nootropic ingredients aren’t backed by science and are unlikely to have any major effects. Overall, the most scientifically backed nootropic ingredients are caffeine and L-Theanine, which are both commonly included in many pre-workouts.

Is it Healthy to Drink Pre-Workout Every Day?

Drinking pre-workout every day should be fine as long as you’re not taking in excessive amounts of caffeine. Especially if you’re sensitive to caffeine, daily pre-workout use may lead to anxiety, jitters, or insomnia. Of course, Kaged Mindset doesn’t contain any caffeine, so this won’t be an issue here.

However, many pre-workouts contain ingredients like Beta-Alanine, Betaine, and Creatine which will be most effective with daily consumption. So, in this sense, many pre-workouts will be most effective when taken daily.

Conclusion

Overall, out of all the nootropic supplements out there, we found Kaged Muscle Mindset to have a fairly weak formula. Especially without scientifically-backed ingredients like Cafeine and L-Theanine, it’s unlikely this supplement will have any noticeable effects.

You’re likely better off buying a different supplement if you’re interested in nootropics, such as Transparent Labs Mindseries Nootropic or HUGE Supplements Nootropic
