2024 IWF Asian Championships: Ruslan Nurudinov won Gold in The Men’s 109 kg Event

On the last competition day of the IWF 2024 Asian Championships, we got to witness another fantastic performance from a champion who’s well-known in the world of weightlifting.

In the 109 kg men’s event, the winner was none other than the Uzbekistani – Ruslan Nurudinov, an athlete we can safely say has won it all in his long career.

Even though he has no chance of qualifying for Paris (seeing as the 109 kg category is not an Olympic one), Nurudinov still showed up to the best of his ability, and even though his total is 50 kg less than his total career best, it was still enough to get him the top spot on the podium.

Nurudinov started the competition day well, lifting 175 kg on the snatch for the silver medal on that lift, but his win came thanks to his performance on the clean & jerk, where he managed to get 207 kg, which was enough to get him the two gold medals – one for the division overall and one for the lift.
