Kevin Faires and Hannah Linzay: New records in Dinnie Stone and Thor’s Hammer

In the state of Texas, USA, the 2023 Rogue Record Breakers event took place. It was part of the overall 2023 Rogue Invitational tournament at the Dell Diamond stadium. Many athletes attempted to set world records, but only two succeeded, and today we’ll talk about them.

Two record holders (Kevin Faires and Hannah Linzay) during the exercise

Kevin Faires and Hannah Linzay will be talked about in various gyms for a long time as the people who set new strength world records. Kevin Faires managed to set a record in holding a replica of the Dinnie Stone, and Hannah Linzay broke the previous record in holding Thor’s Hammer.

Let’s talk about Kevin Faires. He’s no stranger to setting world records. Probably, that’s why Kevin Faires decided to participate in the 2023 Rogue Record Breakers. The competition was about holding the Dinnie Stone replicas, with one stone weighing 188 kg (414.5 pounds) and the other 144.5 kg (318.5 pounds).

Lifting such stones is only half the battle. The real challenge is in sustaining it for a long duration. The timer stopped at 41.31 seconds when Kevin’s strength gave out. Mitchell Hooper had previously held the same weight for 39.85 seconds.

New record holder Hannah Linzay at one of the events

Hannah Linzay set her record in the Thor’s Hammer competition. The idea is almost the same – lifting a heavy hammer with one hand. She managed to lift and fully secure Thor’s Hammer weighing 175 pounds (79.4 kg). She used no equipment other than a belt, knee sleeves, and chalk.

The athletes’ world records were also rewarded with cash prizes. They also marked their place in history, which perhaps means even more to them.
