Gonzalez Alexia Got All 3 Bronze Medals At 2023 IWF Grand Prix II Women 76 Kg Category
Gonzalez Alexia’s top-notch weightlifting skills, diligence, and commitment has paid off for her and her country as she bags 3 bronze medals during the ongoing 2023 IWF Grand Prix II in Qatar. On the eighth day of the competition, 11th December, 2023, Gonzalez with 6 other female weightlifters came together in the 76 kg category to wrestle for gold.
Gonzalez was determined not to be the one to go home as she pursued with fervor to make history and finally fulfill her dream of representing her country, the United States of America. In the Snatch, she lifted 93 kg successfully. She went ahead to make a 114 kg at the Clean and Jerk, impressively. In total, she rounded off the competition by making 207 kg.
Although Gonzalez finished third with a total of 207 kg, she was 18 kg away from second place which was hooked by the Lithuania lifter, Brazaite Gintare, with a total of 225 kg. While for first place, Gonzales was 43 kg away: Jong Chun Hui – led with a total of 250 kg.
With profound cheering on and fund-raising support, Gonzalez’s dream to appear at the 2023 IWF Grand Prix II competition became a reality. Her third place in the Women’s 76 kg category has become an achievement that her community had highly anticipated.
For her first ever international weightlifting competition at the IWF Grand Prix II, Gonzalez Alexia has unleashed a profound milestone in her laudable professional weightlifting journey with the 3 bronze medals. She has proven her resilience and strength in training and winning other solid contenders to the 3rd position, seamlessly.

According to the country medal table, the United States of America drew with Thailand, Indonesia, and Armenia on the bronze section with each country having 7 bronze medals to their names. Gonzalez Alexia’s feats have contributed to her country’s place on the medal table.
Her 3 bronze medals has made it possible for the United States of America to be part of the leading team in the weightlifting category for the 2023 IWF Grand Prix II Competition, Doha, Qatar.
