Karlos Nasar’s Sequel at Bundesliga 2023 Ahead of Grand Prix II

Being on the threshold of the IWF Grand Prix II in Doha, Qatar, we had an opportunity to witness another staggering performance of the Bulgarian prodigy Karlos Nasar. Within the Bundesliga weightlifting session, the 19-year-old powerhouse performed for the second time in Heinsheim on the 2nd of December showing quite impressive results: 165 kg in Snatch, 216 kg in Clean & Jerk, with a total of 381 kg.

Karlos Nasar

Sure, this isn’t his best lift. On the Snatch round, with an opener of 155 kg, he lifted 165 kg, but failed to pull 175 kg at the third attempt. In Clean & Jerk, everything was much smoother: Karlos succeeded at all tries with 190-200-216 kg.

Flashing back to his prior performances, Karlos lifted by 4 kilos more in total at a previous time at the weightlifting session on the 4th of November, resulting in 170-215-385.

Considering the numbers, Karlos is almost approaching his peak form, moreover, the Grand Prix II event is just around the corner.

But, let’s not forget his previous Achilles injury that hindered his participation at the World Champs in Riyadh. Although being young and full of strength played its part, Karlos recovered quickly and now he’s ready to prove his supremacy and claim a medal.

We’re assuming that he can show even 220 kg in Clean & Jerk and more, becoming a chief contender and leader in the 89-kg division.

It’s more likely that this Bulgarian weightlifting giant at least will be closer to his European Championships records, or even he will push himself hard to improve the results and finally return his World Record title.
