1. Carbon T10 Folding Treadmill – Top Pick

Carbon T10 Folding Treadmill
  • Speed range: 0-12 mph
  • Max incline: 12%
  • Folding: Yes
  • Weight limit: 300 lbs
  • Item weight: 205 lbs
  • Product dimensions: 73″ L x 34″ W x 58″ H
  • Display: 10″ HD Touchscreen
  • Running surface: 55″ L x 20″ W
  • Warranty: 10 Year Frame, 2 Year Parts, 1 Year Labor
  • Workout programs: 30-Day IFit Trial (Interactive Workouts and Livestreams)
  • Additional features: Bluetooth Audio, Coolaire Fan, ProShox Cushioning, Device Desk

The ProForm Carbon T10 treadmill is the bigger brother of the T7, with a larger touchscreen and increased running functionality. It offers a large 10″ HD touchscreen with thousands of live and on-demand trainer-led workouts via the iFit app, included as a 30-day free trial when you purchase.

The T10 has a built-in manual mode, allowing you to track your laps and workout metrics according to your own goals and needs. Each metric is displayed at the top of the touchscreen which includes speed, distance, time, and calories burned.

The Carbon T10 offers a larger speed and incline range than Proform’s smaller treadmill models, with speed options from 0-12 mph and incline settings up to 12%. This is mainly down to the larger 2.75 CHP motor included in the T10 model.

The steel frame on the T10 measures 73″ L x 34″ W x 58″ H which should be compact enough to fit into most home gym spaces. It weighs 205 lbs when assembled and can support up to 300 lbs of user weight, plenty for most average athletes and gym goers.

To fold the T10 up, pull the knob on the side of the frame and gently push the running deck towards the console. Allow the pin to click into place before letting go of the treadmill. The T10 model doesn’t feature a hydraulic assist mechanism meaning care needs to be taken when folding it down.

The 55″ L x 20″ W running desk provides enough space for normal walking or jogging. ProForm has included their patented ProShox cushioning underneath to give you more comfort when running and reduce the incidence of injury.

Other features include a built-in CoolAire fan, a device deck below the touchscreen, and a handy water bottle holder at the side.

48 EXPERT SCORE

The Carbon T10 model offers many of the same features as ProForm’s more expensive models but at a mid-range price point and decent 10″ touchscreen.

  • The ProShox cushioning provides added user comfort when running or walking

2. Carbon T14 Treadmill - Runner Up

Carbon T14 Treadmill
  • Speed range: 0-10 mph
  • Max incline: 12%
  • Folding: Yes
  • Weight limit: 300 lbs
  • Item weight: 205 lbs
  • Product dimensions: 73.5” L x 35.2” W x 57.5” H
  • Display: 14" HD Touchscreen
  • Running surface: 55" L x 20 W"
  • Warranty: 10 Year Frame, 2 Year Parts, 1 Year Labor
  • Workout Programs: 30-Day IFit Trial (Interactive Workouts and Livestreams)
  • Additional features: ISOFlex Deck Cushioning, Dual 2" Bluetooth Speakers, Tablet Holder, Cup Holders

The Carbon T14 is the biggest model out of ProForm’s Carbon range offering a 14" HD touchscreen for you to enjoy the free 1-month iFit membership.

The 3.0 CHP motor is also the biggest one offered out of the Carbon range, supporting belt speeds of 0-10 mph and a max incline setting of up to 12%. Shock absorption software is included in all ProForm treadmills, with ISOFlex cushioning included under the 55" L x 20" W deck on the T14.

The T14 has a slightly bigger footprint than the T10, measuring 73.5” L x 35.2” W x 57.5” H. The frame can support up to 300 lbs of user weight which is a great amount for treadmills in this price range.

On either side of the 14” touchscreen, the quick press controls allow you to easily change between the speed and incline settings. The location of the buttons on either side keeps them well organized and stops you from pressing the wrong one, a common problem found on some of ProForm’s other models where the buttons are located next to each other.

A device shelf is conveniently located underneath, allowing you to connect your iPhone or tablet if you prefer to follow a different workout or music video. Further to the side, the dual 2” Bluetooth speakers integrate nicely with your device to offer a fully immersive workout experience.

The folding and unfolding mechanism uses a hydraulic assist system, meaning that when you press the folding knob, it slowly lowers the deck to the floor. It also helps you when you fold the deck upwards, increasing overall safety and protecting your floor and body from possible damage or injury.

Once folded, the transport wheels make moving the T14 around easy enough. It firmly locks into place using a pin lock mechanism.

47.5 EXPERT SCORE

The T14 is my runner-up treadmill choice, offering the biggest touchscreen from the ProForm Carbon range. It has a great user-friendly console layout and comes with a hydraulic assist lifting mechanism.

The ProForm Pro 2000 treadmill is one of the newer models from the Pro range, offering some decent updates over the older one. What makes the Pro 2000 model stand out is the incline and decline options, a feature not offered by the Carbon or City models. The running deck can incline up to 12 % and decline to -3%, giving you an excellent range of training options to choose from.

The Pro 2000 10" HD monitor offers wireless connectivity, meaning it's able to sync with your Bluetooth headphones or other devices if you want to personalize your workout experience. ProForm has also included a free iFit subscription for 30 days. This gives you access to thousands of live and on-demand trainer-led workouts that take you through multiple scenic outdoor running locations.

The 60" L x 20" W deck is slightly larger than the other ProForm models, offering you more room to exercise. Under the deck, the ReBound Pro cushioning provides excellent support to those looking to walk or run for extended periods.

Compared to the old Pro model, the 3.25 hp motor is slightly smaller but still offers speeds from 0-12 mph which should be enough to run at a decent pace. The steel treadmill frame weighs slightly more than the other ProForm models at 262 pounds and can support a max user weight of 300 pounds.

47 EXPERT SCORE

The Pro 2000 treadmill offers some decent upgrades, with a -3% decline setting, a free 30-day iFit subscription, and heart rate sensors on the handrails. Like all of ProForm’s other treadmills, it folds away nicely when not in use.

  • Additional features: ReBound Pro Cushioning, CoolAire Console Fan

The Pro 9000 is the top-of-the-line treadmill offered out of ProForm’s product ranges, with lots of premium features that come at a bigger price point.

The most noticeable feature of the Pro 9000 is the huge 22" HD touchscreen, giving you a fully immersive trainer-led running experience. It really sets the Pro 9000 apart from the competition, with a user-friendly display bar at the top tracking your distance, time, speed, and calories burned.

The console has both the incline and decline buttons and speed buttons under the touchscreen, with an upgraded processor meaning it has a faster loading time and fewer issues with delays or buffering. The CoolAire fan at the bottom of the console provides decent airflow, with four different power settings to choose from. Alongside this, ProForm has designed the Pro 9000 with multiple storage compartments for your water bottle and valuables.

If you don't want to pay for the iFit subscription, the Pro 9000 offers a manual mode setting giving you access to multiple trainer-led outdoor and studio classes as well as normal classes you can do by yourself.

Like the Pro 2000 model, the Pro 9000 offers decline settings of up to -3% and incline settings of up to 12%. The larger 3.6 CHP motor offers a more sustained power output compared to normal hp motors, with a built-in self-cooling feature that stops it from overheating.

The deck measures 60" L x 20", offering the largest running space out of all the ProForm ranges alongside the Pro 2000. Underneath the deck, the ReBound Pro cushioning reduces impact by up to 30% whilst still providing enough stability for a solid running stride. With speed options from 0-12 mph, you have plenty of workout options to choose from using your own device or the free 30-day iFit membership that's included.

  • Max incline: None
  • Folding: Yes
  • Weight limit: 250 lbs
  • Item weight: 125 lbs
  • Product dimensions: 70.25" L x 29" W x 44.5" H
  • Display: LCD
  • Running surface: 17.5" x 45"
  • Warranty: 10 Year Frame, 2 Year Parts, 1 Year Labor
  • Workout Programs: 30-Day IFit Trial (Interactive Workouts and Livestreams)
  • Additional features: ProShox Cushioning, Built-in Tablet Holder

Coming out of ProForm’s City range is their L6 treadmill, offering excellent value for money as an entry-level folding model with a simpler design approach. It’s a great space saving ProForm treadmill option.

What makes the L6 unique is the innovative folding system that folds to the floor rather than upwards like ProForm’s other treadmills. It operates via the fold button on the side. Once the U-shaped upper portion has folded down to the treadmill deck at the floor, the built-in transport wheels allow you to wheel the treadmill under a table, desk, or wider cupboard area.

Under the desk, ProForm has used its patented ProShox cushioning to provide shock absorption when running. The frame is constructed of alloy steel and can support a maximum user weight of up to 250 lbs. It has a compact footprint of 70.25" L x 29" W x 44.5" H allowing it to fit comfortably in most smaller gym spaces. The deck measures 47" L x 18" W which is on the smaller end but should still be plenty of room for most normal users.

At the front of the L6 treadmill frame, the 5" LCD display measures speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The quick speed controls at the side of the console allow you to change the treadmill speed from 0-9 mph. The emergency stop button is conveniently located just underneath.

The free 30-day iFit membership, included with each purchase, uses Bluetooth technology to provide live and on-demand trainer feedback via the app when exercising. Once installed, choose from thousands of trainer-led workouts from multiple elite-level trainers. The iFit app provides guidance and feedback as you exercise, with the trainers able to change your speed, incline level, and resistance level.

The T7 gets its name from its 7" Smart HD touchscreen which tilts up, allowing you to maintain a perfect view throughout your workout. At the top of the screen, the workout metrics show speed, distance, calories burned, and time elapsed.

The 2.6 CHP motor supports belt speeds from 0-10 mph, with incline options from 0-10 %. The running deck measures 55" x 20" which is more compact than ProForm’s Pro ranges. About ProForm

Founded in 1975, ProForm started when a couple wanted to build a ski machine at home to escape the cold winter. After success, they expanded their product range to include treadmills, ellipticals, and other cardio equipment.

The company ran out of its garage until 1998, after which it became a subsidiary of Icon Fitness located in Utah, United States.

Icon Fitness is now one of the largest health and fitness equipment manufacturers along with NordicTrack, iFit, and FreeMotion which are also part of their group.

1. Different Product Ranges

ProForm started to find huge success with the invention of their space-saving treadmill designs, allowing them to be folded up to save space. They were one of the first companies to do this making it a revolutionary concept at the time.

The ProForm treadmill models can be grouped into three categories: Pro, Carbon, and City ranges.

The oPro range is the biggest of the treadmill models, offering larger frames and weight capacity. They have different screen size options and feature the biggest range of incline and speed settings.

The Pro series is the most expensive but comes with the largest number of extra features.

The Carbon range offers a slightly smaller frame design with a similar weight capacity. There are three different screen sizes to choose from, with differences in incline settings and speed depending on which Carbon model you choose.

The City range is ProForm’s under desk treadmill range, offering unique folding designs with a more minimalist, budget-friendly price point. With a smaller design, you miss out on a touchscreen, incline feature, and lower speed options.

What to Look for in ProForm Treadmills

ProForm offers a great range of treadmill models that cater to a range of user needs and home spaces. Here’s what to look for when choosing which model to purchase:

1. Design

The different ProForm treadmill designs vary in frame dimensions, weight capacity, and folding mechanism. Consider factors including your home gym space, body weight and height, and available storage space before deciding on the best model for you.

If you don’t have many vertical storage options and/or you’re on a budget, the City product range might be the best option. If you’re looking for bigger frames and workout settings, go with a treadmill from the pro range.

2. Key Features

Whilst all of the ProForm treadmills offer space-saving frame designs that cleverly fold away, the features offered differ slightly depending on the model you choose.

Different features include built-in workout programs, touchscreen functionality, integrated Bluetooth speakers, folding mechanisms, and shock absorption systems.

Some models also have integrated cooling fans and different motor sizes which changes the range of incline and speed settings. The different features will change the ProForm treadmill price which is something to bear in mind before purchasing.

3. IFIT Membership

Each ProForm treadmill purchase includes a free 30-day iFit trial which offers an app-based interactive workout experience. Some of the ProForm models may include a longer iFit membership package which will be stated in the product specs section.

With the IFit app, you have access to thousands of live and on-demand workouts. If you’re someone who wants feedback during your workout, the integrated Bluetooth feature allows a trainer to change your incline and speed as you exercise.
