Nike Weight Bench Reviews: The Main Characteristics and Features

We’ve reviewed two of Nike’s weight benches below and compared them to some popular competitors.

1. Nike Rolling Weight Bench

1. Stability

Even with the single-column foot, the Nike exercise bench offers excellent stability, largely due to the thick steel legs with rubber feet to stop the bench from moving.

2. Weight Capacity

The 1100-pound weight capacity is excellent for any weight bench and should be enough to support the majority of normal use at most ability levels.

3. Padding Quality

The pad is made from thick foam with a synthetic leather casing, which would be classed as good quality. This offers great user comfort when using the bench.

4. Construction

Constructed from 11-gauge 3x3" tubular steel with a black powder-coated finish, the Nike bench will certainly stand up to repeated impact and environmental changes indoors and outdoors.

5. Extra Features

This is where the rolling bench shines. The built-in carry handle and transportation wheels allow the bench to be easily carried around your home gym or throughout the house.

6. Value For Money

Overall, Nike Rolling Weight Bench offers excellent value for money. It's well-designed using premium materials and has some nice added features.

2. Nike Flat Weight Bench

1. Stability

The Nike training bench offers great stability with two angled legs with protective rubber feet on either end. The bench won't rock or move unnecessarily with heavy use.

2. Weight Capacity

The 1100-pound weight capacity is large enough to accommodate any ability level and exercise that you want to throw at it. In terms of weight capacity, this bench is at the top of the list.

3. Padding Quality

The bench padding is made from thick foam with a synthetic leather case. This is the standard for most weight benches and should provide a good level of user comfort.

4. Construction

The 11-gauge 2x2” tubular steel with powder-coated finish gives the Nike bench a durable build and means that it can stand up to repeated use with no issues at all. It's suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

5. Extra Features

The flat bench features a minimalist design with no carry handle or transportation wheels. This is, however, a deliberate design feature from Nike.

6. Value For Money

Nike Flat Weight Bench features a simple design but covers the basics well. If you're looking for a flat bench with stylist branding that can stand up to heavy use, Nike has done a great job.

Who Are the Nike Weight Benches For?

Weight benches are designed to be used alongside different weights and machines, allowing you to do many different exercises at home or in a commercial gym setting.

They are suitable to be used with dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, EZ bars, squat racks, power racks, squat stands, and many other useful pieces of gym equipment.

Who Are the Nike Weight Benches For?

The Nike weight benches can be used for a variety of flat bench weight exercises to build strength and conditioning, power, and general fitness. They include:

  • Pressing movements (Chest, shoulders)
  • Pulling movements (Back)
  • Cardio-based exercises (e.g step-ups)
  • Bulgarian split squats
  • Push-up variations
  • Weighted fly variations
  • Cable machine exercises (bicep curls, triceps extensions, lateral raises, reverse flys)

This is by no means an exhaustive list, with some of the common exercises mentioned above.

Whilst some considerations should be made when choosing, the Nike weight benches are extremely easy to use, with no real learning curve. This makes them well-suited for beginners, elite level gym goers, and athletes looking to perform any applicable weight or cardio-based exercises.

Nike Weight Bench Alternatives

Here’s how the two Nike weight benches stack up against some other popular brands.

1. Nike Rolling Weight Bench vs. Titan Fitness Weight Bench

Both benches are made from 11-gauge 3x3" tubular steel and finished with a protective black powder-coating for added durability. Both are designed to be used flat and have built-in carry handles for easy portability

Compared to the Nike bench, the Titan Series Single Post Flat Bench has an extra thick, wide back pad and supports a slightly larger max weight of 1200 pounds. However, it doesn't feature transportation wheels and may be too big for smaller gym spaces.

2. Nike Flat Weight Bench vs. Rogue Flat Weight Bench

Both benches feature a minimalist design and are constructed from 11-gauge tubular steel. The tubing used on the Rogue bench is an inch thicker but is slightly heavier at 49 pounds.

Both benches are designed to be used flat, with no carry handle, transportation wheels, or folding mechanisms included.

Nike Flat Weight Bench

The Rogue Flat Utility Bench 2.0 does offer slightly better value for money but doesn't specify its max weight capacity, unfortunately.
