Shi Zhiyong is Back and Takes Snatch Gold at IWF Grand Prix II in Doha

Shi Zhiyong Grabs Gold in Snatch at IWF Grand Prix II in Doha.

Once again Shi Zhiyong stepped onto the platform and showed the weightlifting community that he means business grabbing the top spot in his Snatch category at the recent IWF Grand Prix II in Doha, Qatar.

When it came to the Clean and Jerk, Shi Zhiyong went to the platform to face a 180 kg bar, which resulted in a good lift, but afterwards he refused to perform his second and third attempt at the lift, punishing him to an 8th place in this round.

Overall this resulted in a 340 kg total granting him an outstanding 2nd place overall and with just a 1 kg difference to his opponent Suhavers Ritvars who took 1st place in the category.
