Elena Loredana Toma won Gold in the Women’s 71 kg Category (2024 IWF European Championships)

For some athletes, day 5 of the European Championships in Sofia will be a memorable one, thanks to all that they managed to achieve.

And that applies fully to Elena Loredana Toma from Romania, who once again showed everyone that she’s in fantastic form and one of the best lifters in the category.

The Romanian athlete started off great, completing all three of her Snatch attempts and finishing with 114 kg on the last one, which was enough for the gold medal for the movement. On the Clean & Jerk, she wasn’t as successful, but she still managed to find a way to battle through and get 127 kg for a fourth-place finish.
