1. REPFitness Adjustable Kettlebell â€“ Top Pick

REP Fitness adjustable kettlebell

Founded in 2012, REPFitness began when two brothers saw a need for higher-quality strength and fitness equipment. They aim to create an amazing fitness experience by offering innovative products and amazing customer service from their website to customer communication.

  • Weight Range: 17-35 lbs, 20-40 lbs, 35-53 lbs
  • Increments: 17, 22, 26, 31,35 lbs, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 lbs, 35, 40, 44, 49, 53 lbs
  • Material: Nylon, Rubber
  • Color: Black + Red
  • Item Dimensions: 12.8″ L x 10.2″ W x 9.8″ H (Package Dimensions)

If you’re looking for an effective adjustable kettlebell that ticks all the boxes, the one REPFitness might be for you. Like a couple of my other choices, it feels exactly like a traditional kettlebell but with some nice added features.

It’s constructed using a cast iron shell with a matte powder coat which helps you to maintain a firm grip on the handle when swinging the kettlebell around.

The weight adjustment range depends on the model you choose, with three different options available. These are 17-35, 20-40, and 35-53 lbs. All three choices go up in 4-5 lb increments, with 5 kettlebells in one piece of equipment.

A great thing about the REPFitness Adjustable kettlebell is how secure the weights stay once you’ve changed them. It uses an internal nylon thermoplastic fastener with a plastic adjustment dial at the top, allowing you to change the weight with a quick dial turn.

Another great feature of the REPFitness kettlebell is the marked weight increments. All you do is push the dial down and turn it to the correct spot, with the rotating system grabbing the correct amount of weight. No clicking sound or anything.

The bottom of the kettlebell has a rubber layer that protects the kettlebell and your floor alongside reducing the noise generated when moving it around.

49 EXPERT SCORE

Overall, the REP Fitness Adjustable Kettlebell is well-designed and has a handy adjustment dial at the top, and a protective rubber bottom. It’s a great kettlebell choice that became our top pick model in the list.

Positives:

  • The internal nylon thermoplastic fastener keeps the plates secure when moving around
  • The REPFitness kettlebell is quiet to use, with no clicking sounds when changing the weights around

Could be better:

  • The plastic change mechanism may not be as durable as a metal one

2. Titan Fitness Adjustable Kettlebell â€“ Runner-up

titan fitness adjustable kettlebell

Titan Fitness believes in providing exceptional customer service to go alongside its high-quality product ranges. They manufacture and sell a big range of budget-friendly health and fitness equipment including gym equipment, weights, and accessories.

  • Weight Range: 5-20 lbs
  • Increments: 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20 lbs
  • Material: Cast Iron
  • Color: Black
  • Item Dimensions: 6″ L x 6″ W x 10″ H

When it comes to budget-friendly products, they might not have all the added features or look fancy, but that doesn’t mean they can’t function as intended like their more expensive counterparts.

The Titan Fitness Adjustable Kettlebell is my budget kettlebell choice, with a design that’s made to look similar to a normal iron kettlebell. It has six drop cast iron weights that weigh 2.5 lbs each, giving it a range of 5-20 lbs.

Out of my top 9 choices, the Titan Fitness bell has the smallest weight increments making it perfect for smaller exercisers who find the 5 or 10 lb changes too big for some exercises.

The quick-lock weight design is simple and easy to use by sliding the quick-lock handle into the unlocked position at the top of the kettlebell. Once clicked into place, release the weight amount needed and continue exercising.

The 25 mm smooth handle is very similar to that used on a normal kettlebell, meaning that if you’re able to use them with no issue then this grip will be totally fine.

48 EXPERT SCORE

Overall, the Titan Fitness Adjustable Kettlebell performs just fine compared to higher price point equipment, with a simple yet effective construction and design. It’s great for people looking to try adjustable weights for the first time.

Straight away, one of the stand out features of the Bowflex kettlebell is how quick and easy it is to use the weight adjustment mechanism. By turning the dial at the top, you’re able to switch between 8-40 lbs within seconds. This makes the kettlebell an ideal choice for beginners or those who need to switch between weights quickly during a workout sequence.

Within this weight range, Bowflex has given you four other weight increments to choose from, providing a decent amount of exercise choices and intensities. This means that the adjustable kettlebell replaces 6 kettlebells, saving both money and space when dimensions measure 8.8" L x 7" W x 12.5" H.

In terms of construction, it's made using a durable Steel core with a Polypropylene and Thermoplastic Rubber outer shell. The shell is finished in a black coating with a red ring around the outside.

One Allen head bolt and one nut hold the weight in place. With the Allen wrench, you can change the needed plate size easily: just loosen and remove the screw and fix the plates back. Handles are non-welded, with smooth finish for good hand grip and feel during the workout.

Overally, it's a good product to use in your home gym, it's space-saving, just tighten it up correctly and start training. Powerblock adjustable kettlebell

Powerblock was one of the first brands to make adjustable weights, paving the way for others to follow. They want to push the boundaries of training by producing innovative, evolutionary strength equipment. They are well-trusted by high-level fitness professionals and gyms around the world.

Similar to Bowflex, Powerblock is an industry leader in manufacturing adjustable weights, with their adjustable dumbbells like Bowflex taking the fitness industry by storm when they first came out.

Immediately, one of the great things about the Powerblock kettlebell is that it looks and feels exactly like a regular one. Powerblock has designed it so that you won’t be able to feel the difference when using it, but you have multiple weight choices available all in one piece of kit.

Their adjustable kettlebell features an adjustment mechanism that uses a steel weight selection pin and magnetic lock, allowing you to quickly change between weights with little trouble.

The two kettlebell options ‘regular’ and ‘heavy’ provide users of abilities with a wide variety of weights to choose from and are both some of the smallest adjustable kettlebells I've reviewed. The regular option ranges from 18-35 lbs and measures 5.75" L x 4.25" W x 10" H whilst the heavy goes from 35-62 lbs and measures 8″ L x 5.5″ W x 11.25″ H.

Next on my top 9 adjustable kettlebells list is the Time Wave Adjustable Kettlebell Weight set. It’s a no-nonsense kettlebell that covers all the main points well with two different colors to choose from.

The kettlebell housing is made from steel whilst the individual weight plates are made from durable cast iron with a protective rubber coating. This stops the plates from wearing down easily and protects them from changes in temperature and environment.

The adjustment mechanism uses a swivel lock at the top of the bell, where you slide the lever across to choose the weight you want. Once in position, the iron plate releases so you’re able to change them with no trouble.

In terms of weight, the Time Wave Kettlebell goes from 7.8-40 lbs in 4-6 lb increments, giving you plenty of weight options to choose from. For added security, a pull-out safety lever clicks into place after changing the weight so you know all the weights are securely in place.

The thickened rubber sole at the bottom of the kettlebell keeps it sitting upright whilst protecting both the bell and floor from damage. It measures 12.9" L x 9.8" W x 9" H giving you plenty of extra space to further add to your home gym compared to using 7 different normal kettlebells.

The Hyperwear Adjustable Softbell kettlebell is a totally different type of kettlebell from my other top choices, featuring a soft case design.

The soft weights are encased in durable neoprene material and filled with sand meaning they won’t bruise your arms or legs if you accidentally hit them when swinging the adjustable kettlebell overhead.

The different kettlebell structure means it might feel and move slightly differently compared with normal designs, but this shouldn’t take long to get used to after a few swings.

The weight options range from 7-30 lbs, with six other weight increments to give you an 8-in-1 adjustable kettlebell. The adjustable weights are very easy to take off at the bottom of the bell before screwing the main housing back into place.

It feels like a hybrid between a normal kettlebell and an adjustable one, with a rather slim design and then a handle like a kettlebell. The wide grip handle attaches to the top portion of the bell which has a twist-like weight release system, with two other thick plates screwing on underneath.

In terms of construction, the kettlebell is made from a mixture of 70% solidified silt and 30% PE, which is different from all my other kettlebell choices.

The weight choices range from 3-12 lbs, with increments including 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 lbs which give you plenty of smaller weight choices to pick from. This makes the Perfect Fitness Adjustable kettlebell a perfect choice for someone who doesn’t lift heavy weights and is looking for a bell that’s easy to use.

Perfect fitness states that the kettlebell can be used for swings, presses, and pulls with no problem at all. It has a flat base making it easy to store to the side in your gym or safely in a cupboard when not in use.

What are the Benefits of Adjustable Kettlebells?

Here are just some of the benefits of adding loadable kettlebells to your home gym setup:

✅ Versatile

Whatever your fitness goals, kettlebells can likely help to achieve them. Multi weight kettlebells are some of the most versatile pieces of gym equipment you can buy for your home gym.

They are loved by functional fitness athletes, weightlifters, and recreational gym goers mainly because they provide an excellent mix of strength training, cardio exercise, and use functional movement patterns.

Adjustable kettlebells provide multiple exercise choices in 1 piece of equipment. With the built-in quick adjust mechanisms, you’re able to switch between different exercises whilst choosing the perfect weight for different fitness goals.

✅ Space Saving

When building a home gym, one of the main things stopping you from going crazy online is the amount of space you have available or the lack of it. With limited space, most of us need to pick and choose cleverly designed gym equipment to get the most out of the space.

Adjustable kettlebells provide excellent space-saving weight options, with the multiple weight options drastically reducing the amount of space that would be needed if you used normal kettlebells or other weights such as dumbbells. Alongside this, adjustable kettlebells can be safely stored upright without the need for weight racks or storage pins.

Tips From the Champ

Adjustable kettlebells feature clever designs that allow the user to change the weight within seconds whilst using the same piece of equipment. They are well suited to strength training, cardio exercise, and functional training.

✅ Durable

Adjustable kettlebells are designed to last your whole lifting career, with common materials including steel, cast iron, rubber, and neoprene. Most adjustable kettlebells contain a solid steel core with adjustable cast iron weight plates, with both metals proven in the health and fitness industry to be extremely capable of standing up to wear and tear.

Another common adjustable kettlebell is neoprene which has also been shown to be resistant to impact and heavy use, making it another great choice if you’re looking for durable gym equipment.

✅ Value for Money

Compared to purchasing each individual weight or other gym equipment, adjustable kettlebells are significantly less expensive. This means that they offer fantastic value for money, with budget adjustable kettlebell choices also in my top 9 list.

What to Look for in Adjustable Kettlebells?

When choosing the right variable weight kettlebell set, consider the following factors:

1. Weight Range

Whilst most adjustable kettlebells tend to have a decent weight range, it’s still an important factor to consider when purchasing.

Firstly, think about the exercises you’ll be using the kettlebell for. Then, decide on a suitable kettlebell weight and work out how much you can reasonably progress in the near future. Once you’ve done this, you should have a better idea of the weight range that’s best for you.

2. Increments

Increments refer to the different kettlebell weights you can choose that go between the minimum and maximum values. Basically, it’s the different plate weights that add to the kettlebell which determine the amount and weight of them.

Consider the increment options that you feel you can progress on, with smaller increments often better for beginner lifters or those who focus more on higher rep work.

If you prefer a challenge, go for an adjustable kettlebell with much higher weight increments.

kettlebells workout

3. Comfort

Comfort might not be as important as the factors discussed above, but it still matters and can have an overall impact on training and performance.

Comfort when it comes to adjustable kettlebells mainly concerns the handle dimensions and material. Those with smaller hands should check the handle size before purchasing, with anything under 30 mm being more suitable. People with larger hands may find an adjustable kettlebell with a handle that’s 33+ mm more suitable.

4. Durability

Adjustable kettlebells are made to be swung around, pressed up and down, and moved from one place to the other. Most contain a solid steel core and cast iron weight plates that have a protective rubber coating on them to absorb any impact from hitting the floor.

Check the kettlebell reviews to see previous user experiences in terms of the materials used and think about what you’ll be using yours for. If you think you’ll be dropping your kettlebells, make sure they have a protective rubber coating and a solid attachment mechanism.

5. Price/Quality

When considering the price/quality of the adjustable kettlebells you want to purchase, think about their main characteristics and features and compare them to the functions you want them to perform.

Adjustable kettlebells feature clever designs that allow the user to change the weight within seconds whilst using the same piece of equipment. They are well suited to strength training, cardio exercise, and functional training.

In terms of my adjustable kettlebell review, the REPFitness Adjustable Kettlebell takes my top spot for the best adjustable kettlebell.
